Fly-tipper ignored council notice

A business in Kingsbury has been fined more than £36,000 for illegally dumping rubbish in a nearby street.

After complaints from residents, officers from the council sifted through the illegally dumped rubbish in search of evidence, which led them to Ommegas Services Ltd, of 270 Church Lane.

Willesden magistrates court heard in April that the company ignored multiple warnings from Brent’s Enviro-Crime Enforcement team, including a £400 fixed penalty notice, and continued to dump its waste on Church Lane.

The company was found guilty of illegally dumping waste on a number of occasions and fined £36,573.
