An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Pest Control Officer to join our Environmental Health Service at Cambridge City Council. With responsibility for the control and eradication of public health pests and other animals considered to be pests by the Service within Cambridge City and other areas, we will look to you to deliver a range of pest control services primarily to domestic customers.

You will ensure a prompt and thorough response to all reactive and proactive work required of the pest control service, whilst assisting in the management of the resources available to the pest control service.

Able to demonstrate good communication skills, organise your own busy workload and be able to work upon your own initiative, we will look to you to deal with the public and with businesses as a contractor or service provider in a clear, correct and concise way, with the ability to present facts and negotiate in a balanced manner. The successful candidate will be able to manage conflicting demands and changing priorities in a busy service and will have the confidence to adapt to different situations in a professional manner.

So, if you want to do something that makes a difference to the environment and the local community then we would welcome your application.

In return we can give you access to a range of benefits including generous annual leave allowance, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), a healthy learning and development programme and a health and wellbeing programme for all staff.

Owing to the nature of this position you will need to hold a full driving licence.
