Forthcoming Rodenticide Product Changes and Training Opportunities – Requirement to register as Pest Management Trained Professional User (PMU)

Anticoagulant Rodenticide products are due to be renewed in December 2017 under the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR). These renewals will involve new requirements specified in the Active Substance Approvals. These changes include a new category of Trained Professional User.

The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) requires every person offering a pest management service to register as a Pest Management Trained Professional User (PMU) and receive a PMU Number.

From the 1st January 2018, PMUs offering a service for the control of rodent infestations using trained professional use rodenticide products outdoors around buildings, in open areas and sewers will need to provide proof of competence at the point of sale. This proof will be your PMU No. in the format PMUxxxxxx.
