It has been announced that Racumin® Foam will be exempt from upcoming changes to minimum pack sizes of professional-use rodenticides, meaning the product can still be purchased in individual 500ml cannisters.
Bayer technical manager, Richard Moseley, explains that this means the unique rodenticide will remain cost-effective and accessible to all professional pest control businesses.
“In a bid to minimise irresponsible application and differentiate between professional and amateur products, the new legislation will see all professional-use rodenticides supplied in packs no less than 3kg.”
Since the changes were announced, the Bayer regulatory team has worked hard to successfully negotiate with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), that the larger minimum pack sizes of Racumin® Foam would be detrimental to the industry.
“If the ruling was to apply to Racumin® Foam, it would be supplied in packs of six cans, making it impractical and expensive to purchase.
“So, it’s great news for the industry that it’s business as usual when it comes to purchasing this specialist product,” he says.
About Racumin® Foam
The innovative rodenticide – Racumin® Foam – has been a huge success for pest controllers across the country, since its launch in 2014.
“The water-based foam formulation is the only one of its type available for use against mice and rats, and acts differently to traditional bait rodenticides,” says Richard.
“It works in conjunction with the rodent’s natural grooming habits. As the pest brushes past the foam it’s transferred onto its coat, and the active ingredient is then ingested when the rodent grooms itself.”
